Monaco Celebrates Birth of Royal Twins

HSH Princess Charlene and HSH Prince Albert have announced the arrival of their twins Gabriella Thérèse Marie and Jacques Honoré Rainier. The babies were born two minutes apart, Gabriella at 5:04 pm (local time) and Jacques at 5:06 pm. They were safely delivered today in the maternity ward of the Princess Grace Hospital.

Since Monaco still follows primogeniture, Jacques, despite being two minutes younger, is the next in line to the throne after Prince Albert. He is also styled Marquis of Baux.

Princess Gabriella is second in the line of succession, receiving the title of Countess of Carladès.

Many congratulations to the happy parents and best wishes to the little prince and princess!

Princess Charlene of Monaco is pregnant with twins. Prince Albert refused to comment and the pregnancy announcement  itself was ambiguous. Now it has been confirmed that Charlene and Albert will be expecting twins in December.

Monaco’s New Heir

HSH Princess Charlene of Monaco is pregnant! It will be her first child with her husband Prince Albert.

This baby will be his third. Albert’s two elder children are both illegitimate and therefore cannot inherit the throne of Monaco. So it is with great joy that Monegasques celebrate the impending birth of a legitimate heir for their Sovereign Prince.

It was once thought that Albert would never settle down and that his elder sister, Caroline, might eventually take the throne. Subsequently, her eldest son, Andrea, would become the Sovereign Prince.

Now that has changed, and all eyes are on the Princely couple as they begin this new chapter in their life together. Their child is due near the end of the year, according to the statement released by the palace.

Many happy wishes and blessings on the royal couple and their baby!

Wedding Extravaganza For Monaco

300px-Charlotte_Casiraghi1It’s a wedding extravaganza for Monaco! The principality is set to celebrate the marriages of Princess Caroline’s eldest children.

The diamond studded band recently seen on Charlotte Casiraghi’s left hand seems to indicate what we all suspected: she is engaged to partner Gad Elmaleh. Some hinted that it meant a secret wedding had taken place when it was determined that Charlotte was pregnant. As it turns out, the wedding will happen in the Autumn. Congratulations to the couple!

Charlotte’s elder brother, Andrea, will marry his longtime love Tatiana Santo Domingo at the end of August. They recently had their first child in March, and have been engaged since July 2012.

During my most recent RoyaltyNow! video, I wished that Charlotte had married before getting pregnant, because she would’ve made a beautiful bride. Stunning, probably on par with Princess Grace. That, and it would be nice to legitimize one’s offspring, but what do I know? It’s Monaco! They do what they want.

Now both weddings are happening within a couple of months of one another! So let’s gear up for a Mediterranean wedding wonderland!

Remember when I mentioned that Charlotte Casiraghi might be pregnant? William and Kate don’t need a full time nanny… yet, and the Duke of Edinburgh is back! Hooray!

Monaco’s National Day Got A Bit Brighter

Monaco’s national day got a bit brighter on November 19th when Charlotte Casiraghi, daughter of Princess Caroline, appeared.

Charlie looked gorgeous and quite the elegant lady. Sophisticated! The coquettish hat, the Mona Lisa smile, and the soft, lush curls make Charlotte a knockout this year. In previous years, her clothes have been lovely, but the hair… eh, not so much.

This year:
A million points for this look.

That Gad Elmaleh must have a good effect on her! I think I like that guy. What are your thoughts on this year’s National Day styles? Whom do you prefer style-wise: Charlene, Charlotte, Caro, or Stephanie?

Monaco and Luxembourg Engagements

Royal engagement rings are usually quite delicious, and the bling on display in Monaco and Luxembourg this year are no exception.

On April 26th, Guillaume, Hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg, presented Countess Stéphanie de Lannoy with a stunning ring. Every inch of it is coated in diamonds, topped off with a 4-carat sparkler.

Though not technically royal, Andrea Casiraghi didn’t disappoint. He proposed to Tatiana Santo Domingo, his long-time girlfriend, with a huge yellow diamond. On July 4th, Princess Caroline of Monaco publicly announced the engagement on behalf of her son.
